Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of this website and the marketing services CompoundV provides. They are deliberately short and written in plain English, because a contract you can't read isn't protecting anyone.

Effective date: September 22, 2026  ·  Last updated: October 6, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

By using this website, submitting either form on it (the free audit request or the newsletter signup), or engaging CompoundV for services, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or submit the form.

If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company.

2. Who you are contracting with

This website and the services described on it are provided by CompoundV LLC, doing business as CompoundV Marketing & Acquisitions, a California limited liability company based in Sacramento, California. "CompoundV," "we," "us," and "our" refer to that company. "You" refers to the visitor or client.

3. Use of this website

You may read this site, share links to it, and contact us through it. You may not:

  • Copy, republish, or resell the content, design, or code of this site
  • Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or overload the site
  • Submit false information, impersonate someone else, or send unsolicited commercial messages through our forms
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its hosting, or any connected system

We may decline service, block access, or ignore a submission at our discretion, particularly where it appears to be spam or abuse.

4. The free local visibility audit

The free local visibility audit is exactly that: free, with no obligation. What you can expect:

  • We review your Google Business Profile, website, and local search presence
  • You receive the written findings whether or not you hire us
  • It takes roughly 20 minutes of your time and there is no charge for it, ever

The audit is our professional opinion based on what is publicly visible at the time we look. It is not a warranty, a certification, or a promise of any particular result if you act on it. We may decline to audit a business that is outside our service area or outside our expertise.

5. Services, pricing, and what's on this site

CompoundV provides local SEO, Google Business Profile management, marketing and lead-follow-up automation, social media management, website design and build, and advertising management. We also pursue small business acquisitions, which is a separate process described in Section 12.

Prices shown on this website are starting prices and are described as "from" a figure for that reason. Final pricing depends on scope, number of locations, and what the work actually requires. The price that governs is the one in the written proposal or invoice you accept, not the figure on this page. We may change published pricing at any time; a change does not affect an engagement already underway.

Nothing on this website is an offer capable of acceptance. An engagement begins when we both agree to a written scope and you make the first payment.

6. Billing, term, and cancellation

ItemHow it works
TermAll ongoing plans are month-to-month. There is no long-term contract and no early termination fee.
BillingMonthly in advance, on the same day each month as your start date, unless the written proposal says otherwise.
CancellationCancel any month by telling us in writing. Email is fine. Service continues through the end of the period you have already paid for.
RefundsMonths already worked are not refunded, except under the 30-day fit guarantee in Section 7.
Ad spendAdvertising budgets paid to Google, Meta, or any other platform are separate from our fees, are billed by that platform to your account, and are not refundable by us.
One-time buildsWebsite builds are quoted as a fixed one-time fee with a payment schedule stated in the proposal.
Late paymentIf an invoice goes unpaid, we may pause work after written notice. We will not delete or withhold anything you own.

7. The 30-day fit guarantee

If you are unhappy with your first month, you do not pay for it, and you keep everything we built.

To use it, tell us within 30 days of your start date that it is not a fit. We refund the first month's service fee and hand over every login within 48 hours. You keep the work product produced during that month.

The guarantee covers the first month's service fee only. It does not cover advertising spend paid to third-party platforms, third-party costs such as domain registration or hosting purchased on your behalf, or one-time website build fees where the build has been delivered.

8. What we do not guarantee

We would rather lose the sale than make a promise we can't keep, so this section is blunt.

  • We do not guarantee rankings. Nobody can. Google's algorithm is not ours to control and it changes constantly. Anyone promising you page one in 30 days is guessing.
  • We do not guarantee revenue, leads, or call volume. We can improve your visibility and your follow-up; we cannot control your market, your pricing, your capacity, or whether you answer the phone.
  • We do not guarantee timelines on third-party platforms. Google Business Profile verification, review removals, and listing approvals run on Google's schedule.
  • Historical or example results are not a prediction. Any figure we show you describes what happened in one situation, not what will happen in yours.

What we do commit to: the work described in your written scope, performed to a professional standard.

9. Your responsibilities

Most delays in this kind of work come from the client side, so it is worth stating what we need from you:

  • Timely access to the accounts required for the work: Google Business Profile, website hosting, social accounts, and similar
  • Accurate business information: hours, services, service area, pricing, licensing
  • Reasonably prompt review and approval of content we send for sign-off
  • Confirmation that any photos, logos, text, or testimonials you give us are yours to use and do not infringe anyone's rights
  • Compliance with the rules of the platforms involved, and with the laws that apply to your industry

You indemnify CompoundV against claims arising from materials you supply or instructions you insist on that turn out to infringe a third party's rights.

10. Ownership of work and accounts

You own your domain, your website, and your Google account. Always. Cancel any month and every login is handed over within 48 hours.

On full payment for the work in question, you own the deliverables created specifically for your business: website content and design, written copy, published posts, and your account configurations.

CompoundV retains ownership of its own general methods, templates, checklists, internal tooling, and process documentation. These are the things we bring to every engagement rather than build for yours. You receive a license to use those only as embedded in your deliverables.

Unless you tell us otherwise in writing, we may describe the work we did for you and display it as a portfolio example or case study. Tell us no and we won't.

11. Third-party platforms

Our work depends on platforms we do not own or control, including Google, Meta, Yelp, Apple, hosting providers, and booking and automation tools. Their rules, pricing, features, and availability can change without notice, and their decisions (including suspending or restricting an account) are outside our control. We are not responsible for a third party's outage, policy change, or enforcement action, though we will work with you to respond to one.

Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not ours.

12. Confidentiality and acquisitions inquiries

Non-public information you share with us (financials, customer data, strategy, and anything you mark confidential) stays confidential. We do not disclose it to anyone except where the law requires it.

That applies with particular force to acquisitions conversations. If you contact CompoundV about selling your business, we treat the existence and content of that conversation as confidential. An initial conversation creates no obligation on either side, is not an offer to buy, and is not a broker relationship. CompoundV is an operator and principal, not a licensed business broker, and does not represent you in a transaction. Any actual transaction would be documented separately, and you should engage your own attorney, accountant, and where appropriate a licensed broker before signing anything.

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

This website and its content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing on this site is legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice.

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, CompoundV's total liability arising from these terms or from any engagement is limited to the fees you actually paid us in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, or lost data, even if we were advised such damages were possible.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California, and both parties consent to that jurisdiction.

Before filing anything, both parties agree to first try to resolve the dispute directly: a phone call, in good faith, within 30 days of written notice. Most problems are solvable that way and considerably cheaper.

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The revised version is posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and it applies to use of the site from that date forward. For active clients, a material change does not take effect mid-engagement without notice to you.
